Registration fees include welcome reception, the refreshments during the breaks, lunches and the Book of Abstracts. Participants of the MPTL'20 can also join a guided tour and a banquet dinner. Tickets for each of these events must be paid separately.

Schlosswirtschaft SchwaigeThe banquet dinner will take place at the Schlosswirtschaft Schwaige located in an annex of the Nymphenburg Palace (German: Schloss Nymphenburg).

 

Travel grants

German Research Foundation (DFG)

The German Research Foundation (DFG) supports the MPTL'20 conference.

Criteria for applicants and application:

  • The programme is open to International Researchers (with Ph.D. degree).
  • The centre of the members living or work is located outside Germany.
  • Author or co-author of a conference contribution (talk or a poster) which was submitted and has been accepted by the administration of the conference. (Funding is possible only for one participant per contribution.)
  • Deadline for submission of the hotel/train/flight receipts as copy by e-mail: 6 weeks after end of conference.

EPS Individual Member Travel Grant

The EPS makes a limited number of travel grants available to EPS Individual Members to attend Europhysics and Sponsored Conferences.

Selection procedure and criteria:

  • The EPS Grants Committee will review applications.
  • Grants will be awarded normally to early career researchers.

Conditions for participation:

  • Grants are only available to EPS Individual Members who are up to date in the payment of his/her membership fees.
  • Only one grant will be awarded per person per year.
  • The person must have an accepted oral or poster contribution to the conference.

Application procedure

  • Applications must be made using this application form: http://www.eps.org/page/support_im_app_form
  • To be complete, applications must be accompanied by a CV and a copy of the acceptance letter from the organisers of the applicant's contribution to the conference.

Time Period

  • Applications may be made at any time, as soon as possible after receiving confirmation of an accepted contribution. The decision process requires approximately 2 months.

EPS Europhysics Conference Grant

The European Physical Society offers young scientists 3 travel grants to give young physicists in an early period of their scientific career (Master, Diplom or PhD thesis) the opportunity to present their own scientific results to the MPTL'20 audience.

Criteria for applicants and application:

  • The programme is open to European Researchers (Ph.D. students or with Ph.D. degree).
  • Recipients of the grants should not normally have received their Ph.D. more than 6 years (or equivalent) prior to the application and present a contribution, studying or working at a European institution or demonstrating economic need.
  • The conference organizers give an amount, not exceeding Euro 350.-, to each recipient to support travel and local expenses, and agree to waive registration fees.
  • Deadline for submission of the hotel/train/flight receipts as copy by e-mail: 6 weeks after end of conference.

WE Heraeus Communication Programme

The WE Heraeus Communication Programme for participation at conferences offers young scientists 10 travel grants to give young physicists in an early period of their scientific career (Master, Diplom or PhD thesis) the opportunity to present their own scientific results to the MPTL'20 audience.

Criteria for applicants and application:

  • The programme is open to personal members of DPG in fee categories E, A or 3 (f.c. 3: only Diploma, Master and PhD students). In addition postdocs can be funded up to 3 years after their doctor's degree (within the left mentioned f.c.).
  • The centre of the members living or work is located in Germany.
  • Author or co-author of a conference contribution (talk or a poster) which was submitted and has been accepted by the administration of the conference (Funding is possible only for one participant per contribution.)
